Applying for an MBBS degree in Australia might seem like a long journey, but it’s quite manageable if you follow the steps properly
This is the application process regarding the application and its structure for MBBS in Australia from India:
Step 1: Shortlist the universities
Research the top MBBS universities in Australia based on course curriculum, fees, location, ranking, and eligibility. Finalise 4–5 options that match your goals.
Step 2: Check eligibility and entrance test requirements
Each university has different admission tests. For most MBBS courses, Indian students need NEET scores, and sometimes UCAT or MCAT. Also check the minimum academic marks and English proficiency score (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE) needed.
Step 3: Collect required documents
Get all your academic transcripts, SOP, LORs, entrance exam scores, passport, and other documents ready. Most universities ask for these during the initial application stage.
Step 4: Apply via the university portal
Visit the official website of your chosen university. Fill in your application form carefully and upload all required documents. Some universities charge a small application fee.
Step 5: Appear for the interview (if required)
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a personal interview or video call with the admissions team. This helps them assess your communication skills and motivation.
Step 6: Receive the offer letter
If selected, you’ll get a conditional or unconditional offer letter from the university. Review the conditions carefully before accepting the offer.
Step 7: Apply for your student visa
Once you have the offer letter and have paid your deposit, apply for the Student Visa (Subclass 500) through Australia’s ImmiAccount portal. Make sure you also have a valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Step 8: Get ready to fly
Plan your travel, arrange accommodation, and prepare for your exciting new life in Australia!
