Spain notices an influx of thousands of students to its colleges and universities every year, and its educational prestige is renowned globally. In a recent notice, Indian citizens who have been admitted to a university in Spain can now submit their Spain student visa application from India at the Spanish Embassy in New Delhi.

However, all travellers need to obtain the Health Control Form (FCS) to enter Spain. This has recently been introduced as a new entry requirement by the Government of Spain due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

A student visa is a gateway for you to Spanish educational institutions. Students enrolled in a course duration of fewer than or equal to  90 days need not apply for the visa. The application processing time for the long-term visa is usually more and the overall time taken is also a bit longer than the short term.

The list of documents required for the student visa for Spain are as follows: 

• Completed visa application form (Schengen Visa Form) 
• A passport that is valid for the intended period of your stay
• 2 passport size photos 
• Certificate of acceptance from a recognized Spanish university
• Details about the study program such as the name of the degree and hours of study per week
• Health insurance valid for the whole period of your study duration
• Proof of having the required financial resources to cover all of your expenses during your course of study
• Verified Medical certificate
• Proof of having paid the Spain student visa application fees
• Criminal record certificate to prove you have no cases against you

Generally, the time taken for Spanish student visa processing is around 15-30 days. However, there is no fixed duration for visa processing for Spain. It might get approved within 15 days or might even extend even longer. In some cases depending upon your country, it might extend up to three months too. 

In some cases, the embassy may suggest some changes or ask for more information, and in these cases, the delay is unavoidable. It is highly advised to start with the visa process as soon as the letter of acceptance is received from the university.

Ans. Your bank account statements must prove that you have the following amount available: EUR 437 multiplied by the number of months of your stay in Spain. The minimum amount required is 437 EUR/month.
