The application process is completed online through the University's official graduate application portal. You are automatically considered for the Trust studentship when you apply for your course.
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before you begin, carefully review the eligibility criteria on the official Cambridge Trust website. This ensures you meet all the necessary academic and language requirements.
Step 2: Choose Your Course
You must select and apply for one eligible full-time master’s course at the University of Cambridge. The Cambridge Trust and Clare Hall Thouless Masters Studentship is for courses in the Arts and Humanities.
Step 3: Complete the Online Application
Fill out the detailed online application form on the University's graduate portal before the funding deadline. This includes submitting all required documents like transcripts, references, and a statement of purpose.
Step 4: Indicate Interest in Funding
In the "Funding" section of the application, you must tick the box 'I wish to apply for funding'. This is essential to be considered for this and other scholarships.
Step 5: Submit and Await Departmental Decision
After submitting your application, it will be evaluated by the academic department you applied to. An offer of admission is typically required to be considered for funding.
Step 6: Be Considered for the Studentship
If you meet the criteria and are offered a place, you will automatically be considered for the Cambridge Trust and Clare Hall Thouless Masters Studentship. No separate application is needed.
Step 7: Receive an Award Offer
Successful candidates will be notified by the Cambridge Trust. The offer will include the details of the award.
Step 8: Accept College Membership
For the Thouless Studentship, you must formally accept the offer and become a member of Clare Hall.
Step 9: Submit a Report
As a condition of the award, you will be required to submit a brief written report for the benefactor upon completion of your studies.
Please note: The application deadline is the same as the funding deadline for your course, which for most courses is early December 2024 or early January 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
